Is It or Isn’t It? Get the look for less…

If you are like me and have a quite an expensive taste and eagle eye when it comes to spying for bargain-priced lookalike designer pieces, keep reading…Ever since last September, I have kept my eye on several bidding-wars onScreen Shot 2015-03-23 at 20.13.32 eBay for either a Stella McCartney ‘Fallabella Backpack’ or the Alexander Wang ‘Rockie Cross Body Satchel’. To my disappointment, both are priced at numbers in the three-digits… so I decided to go on the hunt in the flesh of the shops.

I was in awe when I saw the gorgeous grey bacpack, extremely similar to Stella McCartney’s ‘Fallabella Backpack’, priced at only £25 (shown below). Screen Shot 2015-03-23 at 20.12.20

You have probably seen many celebrities carrying a VERY similar item, such as Kylie Jenner. I found this particular backpack in London’s Covent Garden stalls, and this stall also supplied a look-alike Alexander Wang black ‘Lia yellow gold flap bag’ with gold studs, just incase you’re a keen Wang fan like me.

Another tip I have is to always have a peak into secondhand designer shops. I have one in my town, and I managed to snap-up a pair of grey Chanel Espadrilles (show below). Even though £60 seems like a lot for a pair of espadrilles, if it has the Chanel label and priced in the two-digit range, there’s no shame in buying!

My latest addition to my pride and joy bargain/lookalike-designer pieces is the Cartier Screw bracelet, also featured in Kylizzle’s instagram posts. I found this absolute gem in New York’s famous Canal Street.

I hope this has been useful to any of you who dream of turning people’s heads thinking YOU are carrying the real thing, but in fact you’ve just got £25 slung over your shoulder. Jemima Plume Xx
