All Things Breakfast & Audrey Hepburn

To make this summer a worthy and unforgettable few months, I made a to-do list to keep me busy. And during one visit to London I managed to tick off three top-ranking, must-see-and-do things; Audrey Hepburn Exhibition, The Luna Outdoor Cinema and the Breakfast Club

Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon

Ever since I heard the whispers on Instagram and Twitter that this was being shown in the National Portrait Gallery, I was desperate to go. My obsession over Audrey is constantly growing by the minute, so I was very intrigued to see what it had to offer.

As soon as you enter the gallery, you are showcased cabinets full of Audrey’s most personal belongings such as the ballet shoes she wore whilst dancing on the West End (Yes, she was actually a ballerina before her actress career bloomed).

The walls of the gallery are lined with the most iconic photos of her throughout her incredible years on screen.

She’s not only was a phenomenal actress, whose elegance was carried on and off set, but the film industry not only gave her opportunities but also grasped ones away from her; one being the chance of a family.

The photos display how wonderfully talented she was, not just as an actress but also as a woman who inspired so many and carries on to inspire today. She was a woman of great determination and believed passionately in things the world had not yet noticed to be unbelievable. She devoted much of her later life to UNICEF, and for this was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in December 1992. Shortly after, she sadly passed away due to cancer.  Screen Shot 2015-08-01 at 11.11.06

A tribute to a truly wonderful and inspirational woman.

The Luna Outdoor Cinema: Breakfast at tiffany’s

Whatever film, you must book yourself a ticket at one of Luna’s Outdoor Cinemas. I was drawn straight in when I heard my all time favourite, Breakfast At Tiffany’s, was being shown in Wandsworth Park.

On a arrival we were handed complimentary cookies and tasters of iced coffee and cider.

Bring a picnic, settle down, and be sure to bring a blanket if you’re thinking of going anytime soon (what is up with British weather recently?!) Oh, and you can also book yourself a deckchair if you would prefer.

We had the very clever idea of getting ourselves an inflatable back rest which they supply. Think about it, you’re going to have a very numb bum and aching back once you’ve been lying there 2 hours or so. Trust me, it’s a good investment.

A movie night not spent slouched on the sofa for once!

Check out some of Luna Cinema‘s other great locations and films, I’m sure there’s a film for everyone.

The Breakfast Club

Make your way to one of their many Clubs that can be found scattered all over London, and prepare for a queue. The fact that people are willing to queue reassures you that food is going to be amazing.

The interior is really quite retro, so it relates perfectly to the 80s film.

Decisions, decisions…

Obviously I chose bacon and maple syrup pancakes, with a huge green smoothie just to make me feel a little less guilty (not that I was feeling that at all!)

Now I don’t know how, or why, but everything I’ve mentioned in this post seems to breakfast or Audrey Hepburn related (my two favourite things ever), so if you’re a fan of both I would thoroughly recommend that you give everything a try, and let me know your thoughts in the comments.
