Instagram Photo Diary – Cinque Terre

A few of my fellow followers over on Instagram – hop on the bandwagon @jemimaplume – might be feeling neglected or maybe slightly envious (it’s understandable) from my recent adventures in Italy, Cinque Terre. This post will feature the pick of the bunch from my iPhone camera as I am unable to use my Canon photos until I’ve touched down in England… But that just gives me an excuse to write a few more, so stay tuned!

You may not know, but Cinque Terre is famous for their pesto aswell as gelato, so obviously I ate my fair share of both.

This was earned after a hardcore hike from Monterosso, where I was staying, to Vernazza. Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

This vibrant bruschetta board was eaten at a new favourite restaurant of mine, you’ll definitely hear more about it soon.Processed with VSCOcam with g3 preset

I’ll give you a clue…

And of course, I had to have one (or three) scoops of gelato. Here, having gelato is a daily essential so you feel obliged to try some, but I didn’t need any persuading.

And a trek through the hills is definitely worth the blood, sweat and tears. We hiked from our base, Monterosso to the next town, Vernazza.

And it was beautiful.

But before you get too excited, I’d be very prepared if I were you. You know bring about a bottle of water per minute, cause’ you’re gunna get thirsty.

The end result?

Followed by a huge pesto pizza, so it’s worth it trust me.

Out of the five towns, we managed to visit 4 in 2 days – impressive, huh? And personally, in my opinion, and many other traveller’s opinions, Monterosso was the prettiest, quietest and all round ‘Bella’!      And did I mention it’s the only town out of the five that has a beach?

Hopefully this has satisfied you for the moment, and I’ll be back shortly! Any of you already been to Cinque Terre? Have any recommendations before I leave?
