Get ready for your legs to breath. Baggy is back.
The skinny jean trend has taken-over our whole perspective of jeans. We’ve been trained to think that jeans should hug every possible part of your leg, leaving you with a ‘flattering’ sprayed-on effect. Only recently has wearing slightly bagging jeans become acceptable. You had be a certain type to pull off the ‘flares’, and even then it was daring and classed as “naff”.
But oh – how the tables have turned. We’re now seeing flared, gauchos, bootcut and boyfriend. Even labels such as Abercrombie and Levis, who are notorious for their figure-hugging jeans, have new lines of bootcut and flared jeans.
This new trend may have been influenced by the popular current “70s style”, but truthfully I think everyone, even models, have become fed up with the struggle of spending 10 minutes a day fighting to stretch their jeans over their legs.
So here’s to a year of non-restrictive walking!
