My First Blog Award: The Liebster Award

Woah, what? A blogging award? To say I’m surprised is an understatement.

The lovely Alessia from Haute & Houndstooth kindly chose me and 5 other bloggers for the Liebster Award. I know, sounds rather prestigious, right? The Liebster Award is given by bloggers to other bloggers who need a helping hand in becoming recognised by their fellow readers and followers. I love the idea of this because it gives bloggers like me who don’t have a huge reading base a chance to increase their readership by generous and highly talented bloggers from all over the world.

I’ve been blogging for just over a year now, and knowing that people actually read my work is still kind of surreal, and being given an award for it from a brilliant blogger, Alessia, that’s even more surreal.

These are the rules to follow when nominating/being nominated:

  1. You must mention and thank the blogger/blog’s name and blog address  who nominated you.
  2. You must then answer the 11 questions given by the blog which nominated you.
  3. Then choose up to 11 other new bloggers you feel need to be recognised (tagging them in your Liebster Award blog post).
  4. Then create a set of 11 new questions for your nominees to answer.

And so as part of the award’s rules, I have answered all of Alessia’s questions:

Where is your happy place? In my bedroom, hibernating under several blankets watching Netflix on TV with a huge cup of tea. Sounds cliché but it’s the truth! I love my bedroom because it’s a space where I can work and also relax in peace and quite.

Which language would you love to be fluent in? My new year’s resolution this year was to actually teach myself Mandarin Chinese, because I’ve always been drawn to Chinese culture, especially the fashion. Also I hear that Mandarin is the new French, so that’s good to hear since I’ve been taking French and German for GCSE (I’m being sarcastic!) I think knowing how to understand and respond to conversations in multiple languages is such a great skill to have. When I was 7 I moved to the South of France for a year, and being thrown into a foreign environment definitely sparked my passion for languages.

Donuts or ice cream? Gelato, Frozen yo’, Sorbet… I would chose those any day over a donut. Although for some reason donuts in the US always look more appetising than the jammy ones here in England.

Who is your favourite Friends character? Oh god, that’s impossible. But if I was to base one character on my personality, I would say Rachel. I love her humour and strong-wilded ways. For example when the girls lose the bet and have to move into Joey and Chandler’s apartment, she’s the one with “the steady hand”, she’s the one that sticks to her guns.

If you could have a lifetime supply of anything, what would it be? Could I have a lifetime supply of new Gossip Girl episodes, if that’s possible please.

What makes you laugh the hardest? Michael McIntyre, the British Comedian, always manages to have me in stitches. But recently a new programme called ‘You’re Back In The Room’ aired in the UK a few weeks ago and that is plain ridiculous, it involves hypnotised people who have been given specific roles to play whilst completing the game show’s tasks. Absolutely hilarious.

Which of the five spice girls would you be? Posh, for sure. She’s the one that branched out after the singing career to start her own fashion line. And she’s pretty fab too.

You can only watch one movie for the rest of your life, which one do you choose? Well I couldn’t live without young Leo or Jude Law, so either ‘Catch Me If You Can’ or ‘The Talented Mr Ripley’. They’re both brilliant thrillers.

What was your favourite thing about being a child? Probably being able to spend all my time watching Hannah Montana, baking and drawing. I used to constantly have a mess of pink paint and diamantes stuck to my hands because of the numerous wacky DIYs I’d do.

If you could live in any fictional place, which would it be? Being a witchcraft and wizardry student at Hogwarts would be pretty cool. I would always look forward to riding the Honeydukes Express train back to Hogwarts because of the sweets trolley, I’d stock up on the ‘Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Jelly Beans’.

Beyoncé or Taylor Swift? Hands down Beyoncé, Taylor has nothing on Queen Bee’s sass, no offence Swifties.

This was possibly one of the funnest blog post to write, so thanks Alessia!

And now it’s your turn ladies…

Holly from Loving Something

Maddi from Mad For You

My questions:

  1. How did you pick your blog’s name?
  2. What is your best blogging tip?
  3. What have you found challenging about blogging?
  4. If you could have a never-ending supply of clothes from one store, what store would you choose?
  5. Who is your favourite blogger?
  6. Do you have any secret talents?
  7. Are you a cat or dog person?
  8. What top 4 artists would be at your dream music festival?
  9. Young Leo or Young Depp?
  10. If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?
  11. Do you have a favourite quote?
