The radio channel I’ve had on repeat ever since I downloaded SoundCloud around 3 years ago, and their selection of chill house mixed with soul and rap has been getting better and better.
I thought I’d try my hand at recommending music, although my taste in music is… different. I’m a fan of experimental and creative artists, anything ‘cringy’ or ‘screechy’ just doesn’t do it for me. I guess more house and electronic music is the most popular in the charts at the moment, nevertheless a classic cringe number always sneaks into the Top 10!
Soulection holds many titles; a record label, a radio show and a unique platform for creative music makers worldwide. The label is based in no other place than LA, AKA the land where aspiring musicians, singers to DJs, go to be recognised. Their first Soulection Radio Show aired on January 1st 2011, and since then the hour-long mix has grown to become a professional platform for different genres of music. For example this week’s show was a tribute dedicated to Phife Dawg, a genius of the art of rap, and an artist who’s work I recognised immediately when listening to #252 (pictured above).
By exploiting unknown artists through radio, traditional releases, live events and curated visuals Soulection are constantly curating a broader range of timeless music.
If you don’t live in the US (like me), you can get hold of Soulection’s Radio recordings on SoundCloud.com by clicking here, or follow me on SoundCloud @mimaplume to see what I’m currently listening to.

P.S. I didn’t have a clue how to explain how Soulection’s music sounds, so do me a favour and check them out, and you’ll understand what I was blabbering on about.
