So refreshing, so easy – this recipe is one in a melon.

You’ll have finished this quicker than you can sing “I’ve been drinking watermelon“.

Ingredients: (serves 4 glasses)

1 large watermelon

1 lime

Sugar (optional)


  1. Slice your melon in half and scoop out the watermelon into a large bowl. Preferably choose a seedless melon but picking out the seeds works just as well.Screen Shot 2016-09-01 at 18.02.02Screen Shot 2016-09-01 at 18.02.47
  2. Squeeze the juice of one lime into the bowl. If you would rather it be sweeter then add your desired amount of sugar to the bowl as well – and add to a blender and blend until there are no large lumps of melon.Screen Shot 2016-09-01 at 18.03.03
  3. Pour the mixture into a freezer-proof dish and pop in the freezer for around 2-3 hours. Once frozen, use a fork to break up the mixture then re-freeze and re-scrape again until you achieve your desired granita – and you’re done!Screen Shot 2016-09-01 at 18.00.42
