Prepare to zip up for winter.
You know me and my love for metallics, but sometimes you’ve just got to let go of a trend (even if it was two season’s ago…) But I’m not giving up completely any time soon, because I’ve found a way of sneaking some shine into my daily outfits.
And that shiny secret is… metal hardware. You can find it on leather jacket buckles, bag detailing and even jumpers, and this outfits manages to achieve that subtle metallic accent I’ve been longing not to let go of.
I especially love jumpers with metal hardware detailing, and I’ve been seeing lots recently from the likes of ASOS and Topshop (I’ll be ‘well jel’ if someone bags this one). I think it gives that typical wintery jeans-n-jumper look a subtle street-chic.
As for chain detailing on bags… well I know we are all still obsessed with Stella McCartney’s Falabella bag collection, and as soon as I spied the gorgeous chain straps on this Chanel-esque backpack on Zara’s bottom shelf, it was like finding treasure amongst a pile of discounted t-shirt jumble (that manic sort through Zara’s sales).
So it looks like you’re going to be hearing ‘I love metallics’ from me again and again this season.

P.S. click here if you want to view a video made my yours truly, it’s the first of many (I’m hoping) and basically with every outfit I blog about I want to also make a video of it to show where I actually wear the outfit, hence the #where2wear. There’ll be more info on this mini project so stay tuned, but I’m excited to finally experiment with film making. I never thought I’d have my own YouTube Channel, but it’s something I’ve been interested in doing. So I’d appreciate some feedback in the form of likes, dislikes and comments over on that video, thank you it means a lot!
