The iconic tweed you thought could only be bought from Chanel.
Now I’ve never had the honour of touching a real Chanel tweed jacket, dress, bag – but I’ve heard the texture is quite weighty and rich feeling. The thing I love about this style of tweed is the endless mix of threads and colours, and the classy but chic effect it adds to any outfit.
Since its birth in a Scottish factory in 1924, Coco Chanel herself was inspired to produce her iconic tweed fabrics from the Scottish countryside; collecting leaves and samples of earth she would show to her manufacturers.
Re-vamped and a fraction of the price, Zara are doing some gorgeous Chanel-esque pieces that I was desperate to get my hands on. I was surprised to see such a range of pieces in this tweed because last time I checked ‘Scottish vibes’ wasn’t on this season’s trend list, but I’m hoping it will make an appearance in other stores this winter!
And since this is an outfit post, this post’s #WHERE2WEAR video is in London’s Broadway Market and a close by area who’s walls are lined with graffiti after graffiti aka a blogger’s dream shooting location…
