Kiel’s Cleansing Oil

When Kiehl’s released a new cleansing oil that could remove both face makeup and mascara, I was desperate to give it a go. I was a bit skeptical at first because I thought the oil could be quite harsh on the skin since it was strong enough to remove mascara, but after trying a free sample I was desperate to get my hands on a full-size bottle.

The lavender-scented luxury oil emulsifies with water to turn into a calming, milky product, making it incredibly gentle on the skin but also very effective when removing mascara.

If I am wearing mascara, I pump three lots of the oil into the palm of my hand and add a little warm water. Then I massage it into my face and neck, including the eye area. Sometimes if your mascara is being stubborn it helps just to leave the product on your eyes for a minute or two to soak in. Surprisingly a few splashes of water is all you need to remove this cleansing oil, and I say ‘surprisingly’ because I often find any sort of oil-based skin care tends to leave my skin feeling oily. I don’t have extremely oily or dry skin (combination), and I find sometimes I even have to put on a little moisturiser after using this product.

I’ve been using this cleansing oil not only at night, but also in the mornings if I feel like my skin needs a quick and gentle clean.
